All it took was for Shaun and Al to put a fanbelt on Big Car, fill the plumbing with water and connect a battery. Lots of smoke came out (enough to fill the garage) but this soon died down a bit. Later, they reattached the air filter like so…

After this, Big Car ran much more quietly. Let Al tell you…

Here’s a bunch of photos that we took today. You can see all the bits and pieces of Big Car strewn all over the place. Mel and I cleared everything out of Big Car’s footwell and boot and organised all the loose bits of Big Car in the spare garage. I don’t think we’ll be able to dispense with the spare garage just yet because having it makes it much easier to find whatever bit of Big Car that you’re looking for.

Hopefully we’re going to head down to the garages again tomorrow and get Big Car’s wing reattached. Shaun thinks we’ll have Big Car on the road within a couple of weeks. I for one can’t wait!
