Now that we’re no longer paying for the garages, it would be an idea to try to figure out exactly how much the rest of the project is going to cost… eg MOT, tax, registration, insurance etc… (plus the fact that Big Car isn’t actually fully fixed and still needs some work and bits).
The garages were the only on-going cost so we might get closer to an idea of the total cost so we can scrounge some more…

Can someone a bit closer to Big Car’s internals, so to speak, give a description of what else needs done in terms of fixing? Something about glowplugs is the extent of my knowledge.
The other bits are fairly easy to work out, with the exception of insurance, because I think we really need a list of people who will want to be insured (and who won’t be insured on any personal policies etc.) and then we need to figure out how you actually go about insuring a huge land rover for a bunch of kids to drive (especially if she’s going to Russia!).

Al and I are gonna get down there at the weekend – we’ll concentrate on getting Big Car water proof and secure (the locks on one of the doors is bust). After that we’ll take a look at how well Big Car starts and runs and try to work out what else needs doing…
