They won’t take it because it’s in a million pieces. I contacted the people that I spoke to again and they haven’t got back to me.

A few more ebay options…

1) Genuine LR = Â£1340.00 plus a surcharge until old unit is returned.

2) Reconditioned unit = Â£295.00 (there may be a surcharge with this option, will need to check)

3) We have a reconditioned unit that has done a maximum of 3000 miles.
Previous owner bought as a reconditioned unit and then decided to convert to TDi. Price is Â£250.00. No exchange unit required.

Sounds like the one Bob has found is a good option.

Didnt get to the scrappys this weekend, but have spoken to them and they dont have the fuel pump we need. They were very friendly though and ill be up in Rawtenstall quite a lot in the coming weeks so i shall pop in at some point ad search for bench seats and such, think of a list.

I’m in two minds about it all… having just successfully* used eBay to replace the cylinder head and fuel pump on my bike, it is possible to get replacement parts for cheapish.

But you don’t have the guarantee that it’ll work. Â£225 does sound like a lot, but perhaps it’s not a huge amount considering that it will be refurbished and in good working order.

Hmm. It’s a thinker. As it stands now, though, eBay doesn’t appear to have suitable pumps. I think we need to get a range of possibilities… i.e., recon that Bob found, scrapper, ebay, etc. then make a decision.

Sounds good – we want a Fuel Injection Pump off a naturally aspirated 2.5L Diesel Landrover 110, 90 or Defender. It looks like a cuboidish lump of 300×200x100mm metal that has pipe connections all over it and an input shaft at one end. Gimme a call when you get there… Bob.

Bugger! ok well there is a landy scrappy in bury near my mums, will try and get there this weekend. If so will have to give you a ring and find out the name of the thingy we need.
